Fussy

Call it “fussy” if you want, but what you are really seeing is refinement. Women in their 40s, 50s, and 60s have paid their dues—bad relationships, wasted time, and overlooked instincts. They are not interested in repeating those mistakes. What looks like pickiness is often clarity: they know what they will tolerate and what they will not. That said, some cross into rigidity, mistaking high standards for emotional walls. The difference matters. True discernment invites connection; defensiveness blocks it. So yes, they can be fussy—but often for good reason, and occasionally to their own detriment.
